A very simple tip for cooling your home during hot weather.

When the temperature rises, a simple trick with a fan can help to better dissipate the heat that has accumulated in your home. However, it is important to use it at the right time to get the most out of its effectiveness.
It is often thought that a fan must be pointed towards the user to be effective. However, some people place it towards an open window, with the blades facing outwards. This method may seem strange at first, but it is based on a very simple principle. When the temperature rises and the air becomes unbearable indoors, this method can change the way you use your fan. However, you need to know when to use it to get the most out of it.

Fan towards the window: a simple trick to remove hot air
In extreme heat, many people place a fan near their bed or sofa to enjoy a direct breeze. While this provides a certain level of comfort, it does not necessarily cool the room.
A fan does not actually cool you down. It simply moves the air. When the air inside is already very hot, the device simply moves it from one place to another.

However, if the air is led out through an open window, its function changes. It then acts as an exhaust fan, pushing warm air out of the apartment. This exhaust system helps fresh air to enter through another opening, creating a particularly effective ventilation system.

Why can this technology improve ventilation?

This trick is based on a well-known physical principle: A fan creates a small pressure difference by blowing air out, which promotes the flow of new air into the house.

This phenomenon allows for so-called cross ventilation. Even if there is no through-flow air gap in the apartment, it can be achieved with a half-open door, another window or even a skylight in an adjacent room.

The goal is therefore not only to freshen the skin, but also to renew the indoor air in order to remove the heat accumulated during the day.
